Slama acknowledges that our slam takes place in Naarm, on the lands of the Wurundjeri people of the Kulin Nation. We acknowledge that sovereignty was never ceded, no treaty was signed and it always was and always will be Aboriginal land.
THE LAST CHANCE SLAM
We have spots to give out for the Grand Slam. This is your last chance to qualify for the Slamalamadingdong! Grand Slam feat. Tenda McFly to compete for a spot on Team Slama competing against slams from around the country in July.
At least the top 3 from this slam will qualify for the Grand Slam, and anyone sitting on 1 point from appearing in a second round since August will qualify if they make it to the second round in this slam.
We're also asking poets that if you're already qualified for The Grand Slam, can't make the Grand Slam on the 26th or won't be around Melbourne to be on the team if you qualify, that you leave this slam for those that want to get on the team.
Same rules. No repeating poems you've already slammed with this season. Three rounds. $50 cash and a video as a prize for the winner. 3 minutes. No props, no costumes etc. And your 5 random judges in the audience.
Rego is from 7pm. We kick off right on 7.30pm. It's $5 to enter the slam. We'll draw at least 12 names from the hat and maybe more.
You can read about the rules on the Slama website: http://slamalamadingdong.com.au
